Create an External Suppression
An External Suppression is used to suppress (or exclude) records/data from a search that match records the customer has purchased in previous orders.
Step 1 On the Home Page
Click the Suppressions link.

Step 2 On the Suppressions Page
- Click the Create button.
- Click the Suppression link.

Step 3 On the Suppression Import Page
- Enter the name of the Suppression. This is a required field.
- If necessary, select the account, marketer and mart this suppression will be used for.
- Click Choose file. The Windows File window will open. Select the file you will be uploading to create the suppression and click Open. The file will start uploading immediately. The page refreshes to display the Processing File progress bar.

Step 4 On the Suppression Map Page
- Confirm the details of the file name you uploaded. The status of your file is Imported and the correct number of records in the file are listed.
- If you need to change the name of the PO or upload a different file for this suppression, click the Back button.
- Select the fields you are importing for the suppression by clicking the check box to the left of the field name. Intelidata Express will try to match the field names. Review the destination of the field. To make any changes, click the drop down arrow to display the options available for mapping.
- Once you have selected and mapped all of the fields, click the Map button.

Step 5 On Confirm Mapped Fields Page
- Review the mapping you selected on the previous page. If changes are required, click the Back button to update mapping of the fields.
- If no changes are required, click the Confirm button. The page refreshes to display the Processing File progress bar.

Step 6 Suppression Complete Page
The External Suppression has been successfully created. The Suppression Complete page displays the details of the suppression for your review.
The Suppression will be available for use when building new Audiences.
